After effects of procedure

  • Pain is unusual and is due to air trapping and spasm in the intestine. If pain persists consult the centre or after hours. Contact numbers are listed below.

       After Hours:

  • Sore throat is unusual but occasionally happens if any slight coughing occurred on the endoscopic tube. This will pass away within twenty-four hours.

  • Inability to concentrate may be due to a post sedation effect. The half life of all medications used is short and any effects will pass off during the day.

  • Instructions will be given to you by your doctors and any prescriptions if necessary.

  • Post polypectomy bleeding should be reported as for any other emergency.

  • For any emergency report to your proceduralist or the Pennant Hills Day Surgery (02) 9481 0048 or after hours through your own doctor, Hornsby Hospital (02) 9477 9123 or the Sydney Adventist Hospital (02) 9487 9111 and ask them to contact your proceduralist.
