Checking Blood Pressure

We offer open access procedures

Open Access is designed specifically for patients who require colonoscopy or endoscopy for reasons such as:

  • Asymptomatic individuals with positive faecal occult blood tests results eg, National Bowel Cancer Screening, Rotary Screening etc

  • Asymptomatic individuals with a family history of bowel cancer.

  • Patients with stable oesophageal reflux who require screening for Barretts Oesophagus.

  • Patients who are otherwise fit and well, under the age of 75, and weigh less than 120 kg

There is a very strict criteria for Open Access admissions, and an phone triage interview is required, as you will not have a pre-procedure consultation with a gastroenterologist.

Patients who are frail, symptomatic or unwell generally do not meet this criteria and would usually need to be fully assessed at consultation prior to undertaking any procedure.
