Procedure Costs

If you have private health insurance and are covered within your policy, you will be provided with an Estimate of Medical Fees which outlines the expected item numbers and charges, and any out of pocket you might expect to pay.

You may have an excess with your Private Health Fund depending on the details of your policy.  This would be payable on admission to the hospital.  You should check this with your Health fund.

You may also have a gap fee for your Anaesthetist.

If you do not have private health insurance, fees will apply for procedures performed at private hospitals, though you may elect to use the public system and your specialist will discuss this further with you.

If you are a non-resident or do not hold a Medicare card you will be required to pay the full fee for any procedures performed.

No, these are as stated. These “out of pocket” gap fees are above and beyond what the health fund will pay.

We are happy to reimburse you if you give us 48 hours’ notice or you may reschedule your procedure date.

No, this is between you and your health fund. Please contact them for clarification.
